So now I am wondering how do I repair the dog?
I think the answer is... We will sit down and watch "Old Yeller" on the dvd player tonight. And before anyone starts about The correct way to solder is to never solder two ends side by side, Make your cuts 1/2"- 3/4" further in length apart to let yourself splice one wire at one end of the job and the other spliced at the other end. ( here each soldered end will be automatically isolated by the other wires intact insulation.) But I just did not feel like it. :)
