How to Send Tweets more 140 Characters

Twitter has a post limit of 140 characters. This limit can't actually be exceeded but this tutorial will show you how to send tweets more 140 characters by using a third party website.

Step # 1 -- Authorizing Tall Tweets

First go to "www.twitter.com" and make sure that you are signed into your account. Open a new tab and visit the site "www.talltweets.com". Click the "Sign in with twitter" button and click "Authorize app" on the next page. You will then be redirected back to the tall tweets site and this is where you need to enter your longer tweet -- here we are just pasting some long text into the text box.

Step # 2 -- Using the Text Option to Split the Tweet

You will see two options below the text box, "Tweet as Image" and "Tweet as Text". First we will use the text option so click this, the site will load for a moment and the text will disappear from the box. Now go to the tab with twitter open and refresh the page and you can see that the large chunk of text has been split up into six 140 character tweets -- each with markers making it easy for the reader to follow what is going on.

Step # 3 -- Posting the Extended Tweet as an Image

If you don't want to split the tweet up another option is to use the image function on Tall Tweets. Go back to the tall tweets tab and once again we will paste our text into the box -- this time though we will click "Tweet as Image". The site will load again and then the text will disappear. Go to the twitter tab and hit refresh. You will see a new tweet that has an image link, simply click "View photo" and the text will appear below and that is how to send tweets more 140 characters.
