Audible makes it easy to purchase and download books to various apps on various devices. While there is an Audible app that you can download and listen to your audiobooks to on Apple devices, you can also load your Audible audiobooks to iTunes where you can sync them with your Apple device and listen through the Books app. You may want to do this because you prefer the Books audiobook interface, you may have the rest of your audiobook collection available in iTunes and want your Audible books there as well, or you just may want to avoid putting the Audible app on your device. Regardless your reason, the process for importing your Audible audiobooks to iTunes is relatively painless and only take a few minutes.
And now, let's walk through how to import your Audible audiobooks to iTunes.
Step 1. Before you can really get started, you'll need to install the Audible Windows app on your computer, and download your audiobook to your PC from within that application. I've linked to a video in the description that will walk you through how to do this if you need help.
Step 2. Launch the Audible application on your computer, and click "Library" on the left side of your screen if it isn't selected by default. A list of the Audible audiobooks you've purchased appears on the right side of the screen.
Step 3. Locate the audiobook you want to import to iTunes, and then click the three ellipses that appear to the right of that audiobook cover and name. A menu appears directly beneath that book.
Step 4. Select "Import Into iTunes" in the menu. If this is the first time you've attempted importing an Audible audiobook into iTunes you'll see an Activate iTunes dialog box telling you that iTunes must be activated to work with your Audible account. Click the orange "OK" button in the dialog box. A prompt will appear for you to enter the password associated with your Audible account. Enter your password, and then click the orange "Sign In" button. The iTunes application will launch. If you navigate to your Audiobooks section, you should now see the audiobook you chose to import to iTunes from Audible. From here, you can sync your Audible audiobooks to your Apple device to listen to them from the Books app.
Congratulations! You've successfully loaded your Audible audiobook to iTunes.
