Description from the creator

In this video, I will share how to calm down instantly when you're anxious or stressed.

In the times of change and uncertainty we live in today, it's so easy to get stressed and anxious when we're dealing with a change at work and in our life.

Our mind starts to create these crazy scenarios of us losing our job, losing a loved one, the world crashing in on us. This 2 million year old brain is still doing fight or flight mode when we don't necessarily need to, causing anxiety, self doubt, panic and overthinking.

I've been there. I worked in corporate America for 25 years and became very successful. But it got to me. The stress of job uncertainty, career chaos and life gets to you. You know what I mean?

With luck and chance, I had this experience that changed my life and I was able to calm down during times of stress and anxiety and grow again.

My journey began when I started to calm down during those times of stress and feeling anxious.

It began with a breath.
Then another
Then another.

In this video, I'd like to share a quick breathing exercise that has helped me in very stressful situations to regain balance, calm down and get clarity. I've taught this a lot of other people and has been a game changer for me.

I didn't invent it.
I call it the 10-finger breathing exercise. I've taught it to CEOs to my four year old and has been invaluable at calming us almost immediately.

Stressed?
Stop what you're doing.
Sit
Close your eyes
Take one hand and hold the one finger from another hand
Take a long deep breath
Go on to the next finger
When finished with 5 fingers
Go to the other hand
Take a deep breath per finger
Pay attention to your breath because it moves your mind away from negative thoughts towards the present breath

You've now taken 10 deep breaths
You're more relaxed and hopefully calm
If not, do it once more.

Breathing increases blood flow to the brain, bringing calm and clarity to our body.

There's a lot of stress out there especially as our workplace is changing and we're feeling anxious.
Please use this exercise if you want to know how to calm down instantly and I hope it helps you. Forward to a friend.

With love and respect for what you do each day.
