How To Create a Layer Mask in Photoshop | Text Layer Mask

Today in Photoshop we will learn how to add a layer mask using text. In our layers box we have an image on one layer as well as a white background layer. In the toolbar grab the text tool and write aquarium. Make sure the text is lined up with the picture in the background; this will become our layer mask. Once the text is lined up go to the layers box and move the image later in front of the text later. Click control and choose the T in the text layer. This makes the selection for our layer mask. Now at the bottom of the layers box click on layer mask.

This was very easy to create a layer mask.
