What’s up? I’m Melissa with San Diego Paddle Yoga and today we’ll be working on some fun poses – hurdler’s pose into chin stand.

I have the beautiful Helen and Alicen to demo for you guys today. So we’ll start in a downward facing dog. Plant your palms shoulder width distance apart, maybe a little bit wider on your board. So the tip and trick for this one is to draw your feet together. On your next inhale, draw one leg up to the sky. As you exhale, suction your thigh into your tricep, bend your arms, bring your chest forward for hurdler’s.

Feel free to stay here or, like Helen will be doing, drawing her chin down, extending her legs up, squeezing through her core for chin stand. Feel free to stay here, or for added heat, taking it through a backbend. Tucking tailbone and drawing your toes to your head.

On your next exhale, these lovely ladies will shoot their legs back into a chaturanga, low plank. Inhale urdhva mukha, up dog, open and expand your chest. Exhale downward facing dog.
