How to clip/trim a lovebird's wings

Hey guys, thanks for stopping by to check out another one of my tutorials. I hope this video is helpful to all of you lovebird lovers out there.
To trim the bird's wings, I use a regular sharp pair of scissors and to file the beak I use a pen shape manicure drill that I bought online, I find the drill a little more helpful than a regular nail file.
Before you trim your bird's wings, you must make sure to let your baby bird take flight and fly around the house or aviary for 3 days or so, some people say that if you don't let them take flight before you trim them the baby bird will never learn how to fly once it's an adult. No idea if it's a true statement or not, I always let my little ones fly a lot around the nursery before I trim their wings.
I hope you enjoyed the video and if you have any questions or ideas for future tutorials on things you would like to learn related to lovebirds please send me an email to
