How to check your Dyson Ball™ cylinder vacuum for blockages

If your Dyson Ball™ cylinder vacuum doesn't seem to be picking up, this may be due to blockages. A blockage could occur if an item too large for the machine has been accidentally vacuumed up.

After switching off and unplugging the machine, please follow the steps shown in the video to locate and remove any obstructions from the floor tool, wand, wand handle, hose or internal duct. The same principles apply to other floor tools.

Step 1. Check the tool in use for debris.
Step 2. Ensure the extension tube is free from any debris.
Step 3. Check both ends of the wand handle for any debris.
Step 4. Check down both ends of the hose for any debris.
Step 5. Clear the airway in the cyclone of any debris.
Step 6. Check the main duct on the machine for any debris.
Step 7. Remove the two Phillips screws from the locator bracket.
Step 8. Firmly twist the hose away from the inlet next to the ball. Note: do not remove the end next to the connection for the main hose.
Step 9. Ensure the hose and main duct are free of any debris.
Step 10. Firmly refit the hose.
Step 11. Refit the bracket and the two Phillips screws.
