HOW TO PREVENT ACNE SCARS
Prevention of acne scars is paramount. Here are some helpful tips.

Firstly, do NOT pick. Picking or acne excoriee most often leads to acne scars. Picking can be due to OCD or obsessive compulsive disorder, or more commonly just a bad habit. The use of hydrocolloid dressings, and gels can help. Salicylic acid gels and topicals as well as spot treatments like BPO or Benzoyl Peroxide can both dry up zits & pustules, as well as prevent picking.

The time taken for effective control of acne is really important. The longer it takes, the more the scarring. Try DIY acne treatments for 4 to 6 weeks. This includes a good acne diet (see previous Youtube Videos), a BHA was like Neutrogena Oil Free 2% Salicylic Acid wash & retinoids (or retinol if you can not get hold of a retinoid). Differin is OTC or over the counter. It is cost effective, especially in the United States.

Early acne scars can be treated with LED or light emitting diodes, fractional lasers, energy devices and even retinoid or AHA chemical peels (Glycolic or Lactic acid peels). RFM or radiofrequency microneedling can be a useful adjunct. Home treatments that are safe include dermaroller at 0.25 mm.

See a medical dermatologist if simple at home remedies do not work. Time to effective control is super important.
