Muscle contractures can have a negative effect on your gait pattern with your prosthesis. In this video we show you movement exercises that you can perform while still being in the hospital after your amputation to prevent muscle contractures. In order to achieve an inconspicuous gait pattern with your prosthesis, it is helpful to maintain the mobility of your residual limb. Start with the movement exercises as early as possible after the amputation, once you receive the approval of your doctor.
