In this tutorial I go over how to enable file sharing in mac and how to access that share folder/file in macOS and Windows.

To enable share folder and files in your macOS, you have to go to Preferences - Sharing - Enable File Sharing. On the right side make sure you include the folder you want to share, and then make sure you add the macOS user account you want to be authenticate with when accessing those share files.

If you can't access the share files with the host name or computer name, then you may have issues with DNS, but you can still access those same share files with the IP Address.
