Description from the creator

Sugar refers to the group of carbohydrates that help make our food sweet. It is recommended that adults consume less than 10% of their total calories from free sugars. Free sugars include sugars added to food plus sugar naturally present in food like honey, syrup and fruit juice.

Registered Dietitian Margaret Brum suggests some ways you can manage the added sugars in your diet:

• Try drinking more water, unsweetened teas or reduced fat milk. Drink carbonated water with lemon or lime.
• Start with a plain yogurt and choose your favorite fruits and spices to add flavour.
• Use unsweetened applesauce to replace the sugar in your recipes.
• And more!
