Working outside in cold weather with numb hands makes every tool task harder and more dangerous — here's what actually keeps hands warm during DIY work, not just standing around.

The challenge with working hands in cold weather: you need warmth AND dexterity. Standard bulky insulated gloves are warm but clumsy. Liner gloves work inside regular gloves for layering. Hand warmers in your pockets between tasks keep blood flowing to your fingers even when you're not wearing gloves. The real secret: keeping your core and wrists warm matters more than your hands — when your body conserves heat from the core, it restricts blood flow to the extremities first.

📦 TOOLS USED:
→ DEWALT 20V MAX Cordless Impact Driver (DCF787C2): amzn.to/3GAb94M
→ Stanley FatMax Tape Measure 25 ft: amzn.to/3kgGJ02

Layer strategy: thermal liner glove underneath a work glove rated for your temperature range. In below-freezing temps, chemical hand warmers activated and placed in a pocket keep core-routed blood to the hands noticeably warmer between tasks.

💡 PRO TIP: Wiggle your fingers hard for 20–30 seconds before putting on gloves — this pumps warm blood into the fingers before you trap them in insulation. Do this every time you put gloves back on after removing them.
