Description from the creator

Cleaning a Char-Broil TRU-Infrared grill requires a different approach than cleaning standard grates — here's the fast method that protects the emitter plates and keeps it cooking evenly.

The TRU-Infrared system uses a stainless emitter plate between the burner and the cooking grate. This plate is the key to even cooking — if it's clogged with grease, you'll get hot spots and flare-ups. The cleaning process: burn off residue on high heat for 10 minutes → let cool to warm → remove grates and emitter plates → clean with soapy water and a soft brush → reassemble.

→ Char-Broil Performance TRU-Infrared 4-Burner Gas Grill: amzn.to/3I5iVon

Do NOT use metal wire brushes on the infrared emitter plates — they damage the finish and debris can end up in your food. Use a nylon brush or ball of aluminum foil instead.

PRO TIP: After cleaning, coat the emitter plates and cooking grates lightly with vegetable oil before reassembling. This prevents rust and makes the next cleaning 10x easier.
