How to Make Leche Flan
✅Ingredients
9 tablespoons sugar
12 egg yolks from large eggs
1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
1 12-ounce can evaporated milk
✅Instructions
In each llanera, place 3 tablespoons of sugar. Set the llanera over the stove on low heat and, using tongs, move the llanera repeatedly over the flames until the sugar is melted and golden. Continuously tilt and swirl the llanera to ensure even melting and distribute the melted liquid on the bottom of the mold. Remove from heat and allow the caramel to cool and harden.
In a medium bowl, combine egg yolks, evaporated milk, and condensed milk. Gently stir in a circular motion until blended. Strain the egg-milk mixture through cheesecloth.
Pour the strained mixture into prepared llaneras. Cover the llaneras with foil and arrange them in a wide, oven-safe dish with about 1 inch of water (water bath).
Bake in a 375 F oven for about 50 minutes to 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the custard comes out clean.
Remove from the oven, let cool, and refrigerate to set. To serve, turn the flan over onto a serving plate, caramel on top.
