Peeling a shallot can be a pain in the ass, unless you know a couple techniques that will make it a whole lot easier. In this video, I show you how to remove the outer layer of skin, and then take off that top layer of flesh, which is generally pretty tough and fibrous...not all that good.

Cutting the shallot in half is the real key to peeling them much easier, and it's such a simple, and easy trick everyone should know it.
