Description from the creator

Back Extensions are a stability ball exercise that build core strength & stretch your low back. Grab your exercise ball here: vivehealth.com/products/exercise-ball

Stretching your lower back can boost circulation, improve flexibility & mobility. This exercise also works to strengthen the back & core to prevent further injury.

Physical therapist, Dr. David Lee, shows us how to perform a simple back stretch using a stability ball. Follow these steps to perform this movement on your own:

Step 1:
Lay on the exercise ball.

Step 2:
Make sure that the head, shoulders & back are in alignment.

Step 3:
With the core engaged & glutes tight, lift your chest up and off the ball. To make the movement more challenging, place your hands behind your head as if you were doing an abdominal crunch.

Step 3:
Hold this position for 10 seconds & repeat three sets of ten repetitions.
