Description from the creator

How to Become a Hindu: Is There a Conversion Ceremony? | Jay Lakhani, Hindu Academy

No formal conversion is required: if you genuinely embrace and engage with the central ideas of Hinduism, you are already a Hindu informally. For those who want a formal step, some organisations perform a naming ceremony (naam karan) in front of a sacred fire, giving the person a Hindu name. Jay Lakhani stresses that Hinduism does not seek to convert people away from their own faith and calls it a spiritual democracy.
