A variation of the Old Fashioned using Holland gin (Genever) was first mentioned in Jerry Thomas' Bartenders Guide: How to Mix Drinks in 1862 (amzn.to/1N98Ap9). It wasn't mentioned with whiskey until 1880.
It was apparently first created by a bartender in Louisville, Kentucky at The Pendennis Club.

Today, we are making a twist on the Old Fashioned using St Lucia's Distillers Chairman's Reserve & Chairman's Reserve Spiced rum.

INGREDIENTS
* 30mL Chairman's Reserve Rum (bit.ly/1NTQ2e3)
* 30mL Chairman's Reserve Spiced Rum (bit.ly/1JVFyDT)
* Angostura Bitters (bit.ly/1LQq4op)
* Regan's No. 6 Orange Bitters (bit.ly/1KwHjho)
* Sugar Cube

DIRECTIONS
1. Place the sugar cube into your mixing glass
2. Add a few dashes of both bitters
3. Add both rums
4. Fill your mixing glass with ice
5. Stir for 20-30 rotations
6. Strain over fresh ice
