How To Grow Cucumber Vertically - Save Space & Increase Yields in 3 Simple Steps

Growing cucumbers vertically saves space and gives you cleaner, straighter cucumbers. Here are the 3 simple steps I use to grow 12 to 14 cucumber plants on a cucumber trellis in about a third of one raised bed.

Cucumbers are vining plants with tendrils that want to climb. Grown on the ground they sprawl, rot on the bottom and hide from you. Grown on a trellis they're easy to find, get more airflow, and one plant can give you 60 to 80 cucumbers if it has the vertical space. I use a simple conduit frame with strings, but sticks or an A-frame work too.
