Description from the creator

If you don't have a pre-lit artificial tree or you have a fresh one, putting on the lights can be a bit of an ordeal with you ending up with a rat's nest of tangled lights. If you are buying new lights, don't unravel them when you take them out of the box as they are usually packed tidily. If you use LEDs plug them in and switch on so you can see where they are as you are putting them on; they are safe to do this as they are cold to the touch and low voltage. If you are using the old type filament lights DO NOT put them on the tree lit and plugged in as they become too hot to touch and they are high voltage.
Start at the bottom of the tree at the very back of a branch and work forward, winding around the branch. When you get to the front take the lights to the back again and go onto the next branch. Putting the lights on methodically ensures you get an even coverage. We recommend about 100 lights per foot of tree, so a 7' tree will need a minimum of 700 lights. The tree in the video is a 7' Keswick Spruce from The National Tree Company and one from our budget range. We put on 3,000 lights for the purposes of the videos to make sure that it stood out on film.
If you want to bring an extra element to your tree try putting on two different colours of lights, one inside the tree and one outside. If you have a red/gold traditional palette red lights in the tree give it a really fantastic glow. If you have a cold wintery palette try blue lights inside the tree, or amber if you have a natural/woodland colour scheme.
