How To Ring an Android Phone By Sending a Text Message

To do that, we are going to create triggers and actions using a task automation app called Automate It.


Open the Play Store app on your phone and install this app on your phone.


The app takes you through an introduction and might ask some permissions.


Now, in this app, we have to create an automation rule that can play sound on the phone when dan SMS is received. To make this work perfectly, we will also create a rule to set the phone volume to the maximum before ringing.


So click on the hamburger menu in the app and ho to My Rules section. Now tap the plus icon to create a new rule.


This opens a list of triggers, scroll the list down and select "Any SMS Trigger" from the ''Phone and Messaging' section.


When you select the trigger, it takes you to the actions where you can pick and action for the trigger. Again scroll down the list and choose "Set Volume action". This opens the volume slider on your screen; set the music volume to maximum and click the next button


In the next screen, enter a name for the rule and save it.


Now we have to create another task for playing a sound. So click the plus icon again and then select the same trigger.
In the actions, again scroll down the list and this time pick the "play sound action" from the sound.


choosing this action asks you to pick an audio file. Click this browse files icon here and then select the audio file from your phone that you want to play.
Set the sound type option to all sound types and move to the next step.


Here, add a name for the rule. Then click the "delay execution button. This option adds a delay before executing the action. we are planning to run both actions by sending a single task so add a 2-second delay to this rule.
This allows the app to run the volume action before ringing.


After creating both tasks, you can run them for testing. This ensures that the rule is correctly working. Now just make sure both rules are on and that's it.
Now, whenever there is an incoming SMS, the phone set the volume to maximum and play the selected sound.
