Leading USA Swim Coach Matt Kredich shows how to improve the breaststroke kick by developing power and speed to propel the swimmer forward. Understanding of the breaststroke kick has evolved to focusing on driving the legs and water backward and positioning the body in front of those forces to develop as much power as possible. The Vasa Trainer is used to provide feedback to the resistive kicking, which is transferable to kicking in the pool.

By switching direction, the swimmer can also train the recovery portion of the kick where legs are moved out into the flow of the water.

This shorter video clip is part of Coach Kredich's outstanding DVD, "Technical Breaststroke," by Championship Productions.
