Description from the creator

Have you had a cafetiere (also known as a french press) kicking around for ages, but not sure how to use it to make the best coffee?

Then this video, where we share a step by step guide to brewing coffee with a cafetiere, is for you.

A cafetiere is great if you prefer a heavier bodied coffee.

To get a little techy, we would recommend a starting ratio of 1 part coffee to 20 parts water. If this is too strong or too weak for you, change the ratio as needed. As long as you enjoy it, make it however you wish!

Before you start, you will need:

A kettle
A cafetiere
A fancy mug
25g of scrummy coffee
500 ml of filtered water if possible. From the tap if not.

Got everything? The steps laid out in the video are as follows:

1. Kettle on
2. If you need to, grind some tasty beans. These need to be ground like the texture of caster sugar.
3. Rinse the cafetiere with warm water and discard.
4. Let the kettle cool for 30-60s once it has boiled.
5. In the meantime, add your ground coffee to the cafetiere.
6. Pour all of your water in, trying to wet all the grounds whilst doing so. Add the lid gently to keep the heat in.
7. After two minutes, stir the coffee to break up the crust.
8 After a further 2 minutes, plunge the cafetiere.
9. After 2 more minutes, pour.
10. Do a little dance. Woop woop!

And there we have it – our video showing you step by step instructions to brew coffee using a cafetiere or french press.
