Description from the creator

fitforafeast.com How to do a back walkover tutorial - by request. First practice your bridge and then develop your back walkover in this gymnastics tutorial video. If you need help with your back bend, check out our tutorial: youtube.com/watch?v=7daapJtgjys

If you need more help to be able to kick over, check out our newer back bend kickover tutorial: youtube.com/watch?v=a8JWgwZ_4Qc

Be sure to work on a mat or soft surface. A spotter can help get you started. Take it step by step and go at your own pace. If you want to learn how to spot, check out this tutorial with gymnastics Coach Don: youtube.com/watch?v=qh-NMYbNgPc

While you won't need to be able to do a full handstand to do these, you will need to be able to support your weight on your hands until your legs come full around. For more help on getting a handstand, see our new handstand tutorial: youtube.com/watch?v=5qv55f08a78

Some call these kick overs. Workouts will help increase your flexibility and doing regular exercise is great fun for improving your health. Show off your new back walkover move to your friends. Take time to learn it right without getting injured, then work on style - keeping your legs straight and feet pointed. You should be physically fit and have some gymnastics training before you try these. Always start with the easier moves (back bend, kickover, etc.) and work your way up to the harder moves.

The difference between a back bend kickover and a back walkover is that the back bend kickover is 2 moves - the back walkover is one smooth motion with no stops in between. Work on getting the mechanics first - and then you can work on technique to get it smooth with nice clean lines and stretched legs.

Have fun doing your back walkovers! Check out our channel for other tutorials: youtube.com/fitforafeast
