[INTRO]: In this video, I will explain the Compare process of your Aleratec USB HDD Copy Tower SA duplicator.
[Compare process explanation]
The Compare process compares the data between the source and target USB drives after copying to ensure accurate copies, in both Synchronous and Asynchronous modes.
[Synchronous Compare]
After copying has completed, press ESC and use the arrow buttons to navigate to “2. Compare”. Press the OK button, the Compare process will begin and the green LED’s will start flashing. Do not remove a drive while the process is running. The display will then show the total amount of data to be compared, the amount of data already compared and the progress of the comparison in an increasing percentage. When the comparison is complete, you will hear a triple beep and see a “report” screen displaying the total time elapsed and the number of drives that have passed or failed. OK means the number of drives passed while NG stands for “No Good”, meaning the number of drives failed. The LED indicator lights on each port will display a solid green light for passed drives and a solid red light for failed drives. To compare a new round of copied drives, press ESC, remove compared drives, insert new round of drives, and repeat as instructed.
[Asynchronous Compare]
After copying has completed, press ESC and use the arrow buttons to navigate to “2. Compare”. Press the OK button, the Compare process will begin and the green LED’s will start flashing. Like during the copy process, once the green LED of a port stops flashing, you can remove the USB drive and insert the next. However, do not remove a drive from a port with a flashing LED. You will see the count of drives that have passed or failed increase as the comparison progresses. The LED indicator lights on each port will display a solid green light for passed drives and a solid red light for failed drives. To compare additional copied drives, simply remove the compared drives and insert drives that need to be compared. The “Pass” and “Failed” counters will increase as more drives are compared. When the comparison is complete, the Compare counter will read 0 and will display a count of how many drives have passed or failed. You may then use the arrow buttons to scroll through the drive port numbers to view the status of passed or failed drives. When you are finished comparing drives, press the ESC button to return to the Main menu.
[TIP: Copy + Compare]
You can automatically run the Compare process after duplication by selecting the option “3. Copy+Compare” in the Main menu.
