How To Duplicate with 1:3 HDD Copy Dock Duplicator 350117 - Aleratec Tips & Tricks Part 1

INTRO: Hello, my name is Chris. In this series, I will show you how to perform a duplication with your Aleratec 1:3 HDD Copy Dock Duplicator, how to use the unit as a hard drive dock and some troubleshooting tips. In this particular video, I will show you the duplication procedure.

Duplication Procedure
If connected, please disconnect your USB cable before duplicating. Connect the power adapter to the copy dock and to an available power outlet. Insert your source and target drives into their appropriate slots. Press the “POWER” button to turn on the unit and the blue LED on the button will light up. Press the individual power buttons to power on each drive slot being used. The source and target LED’s will turn blue when the drives are detected. To enter the “COPY” mode, press either the “UP”, “DOWN”, “ENT” or “ESC” button. You will then see “Main Menu – Duplicator Mode”. Press the ENT button and you then see “You Are Going To Duplicator MODE”, press the ENT button. You will be prompted with: “Are You Sure? Enter: Yes ESC: No”.

Press the ENT button to enter the duplication mode. You will hear a short beep. Press the “UP” or “DOWN” button to access the main menu. The display will show “Dup. Menu 1. Copy HDD”. Press the ENT button and you will be prompted with: “Are You Sure? Enter: Yes ESC: No”. Press the ENT button to start the duplication process and you will hear a beep. The display will show the progress of duplication. The display show the copy rate, the percentage copied, remaining data to be copied and time elapsed. When the duplication is complete, you will hear a series of beeps. The display will show “Final”, the data remaining will show “0.0GB” and the percentage will show “100%”. Power off the duplicator and eject the hard drives.

TIP: The duplication process will not start if one or more of the target drives size capacities are less than the source drive’s size capacity. Please make sure all target drives have exactly the same size or larger size capacities than the source drive. In some rare cases, hard drives that are labeled as having the same capacity actually have small differences in capacity, which can cause the duplication to fail.
