Hello, my name is Chris. In this video, I will provide general tips and troubleshooting information for FlashCraft™ USB duplication software for Mac computers.
[General Tips]
-Connect and power on your USB Copy Cruiser prior to starting FlashCraft™. If not, you’ll see a “No Copy Cruiser was found” message upon loading FlashCraft™. If you receive this prompt, quit FlashCraft™, connect and power on your duplicator, and then load FlashCraft™.
-Insert target drives after starting a process; otherwise, you’ll see a message that unexpected drives are detected and will be prompted to either remove them or proceed to overwrite them.
-Using saved projects for frequently performed tasks will save you valuable time by not having to select data sources to be duplicated and formatting options for your target drives.
[Troubleshooting]
[Copy failures/”Insufficient space”] Please verify the capacities of the target drives are able to accommodate the amount of source data you are copying. Use Disk Utility to verify the actual capacities of your drives, as there are likely to be variances between actual capacities and the stated capacity of the drives.
[Target drives not mounting after duplication]
This issue is more than likely caused by leaving target drives in the duplicator after duplication. Close FlashCraft™ to release the target drives, use Disk Utility to eject them, and then reinsert and check the status of the drives. The most common cause of this issue is the USB target drives are not formatted. Most USB flash drives are usually pre-formatted, however, some drives may be unformatted or not initialized, such as custom USB flash drives purchased in bulk. You will need to format these drives prior to using FlashCraft™. Use Disk Utility to check the status of the drives.
[USB connection issues]
USB connection issues are more than likely to be caused by your USB cable. Make sure your USB cable is securely connected on both ends. If you continue to have issues, try swapping the USB cable with a known good, working cable or try another USB port on your Mac. If these issues persist, please contact Aleratec Support.
