Description from the creator

Beginner core exercises, like Bridges, develop abdominal muscles & decrease the stress on your low back. Learn other ways to build core strength here: vivehealth.com/blogs/resources/core-exercises-f…

If you are just starting out, a stability ball is a great way to learn how to engage your core & practice good spinal alignment.

Dr. David Lee, PT, shares an easy core strengthening exercise you can perform at home. Follow these steps to get started:

Step 1:
Sit on an exercise ball & slide into the bridge position.

Step 2:
Make sure your head is supported, chin down, core engaged & feet flat on the floor.

Step 3:
Squeeze the glutes & push your hips forward and up. To make the movement more challenging, turn your knees out to create more tension in the hips.

Step 4:
Hold this position for 5 - 10 seconds & repeat four sets of ten repetitions.
